Position: Engineering Technician

📍 Location: Baltimore, MD

💰 Salary Range: $40,000 – $70,000 (Based on Experience)

Overview

Client is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician with experience in the assembly and testing of power system components and industrial electronics. The ideal candidate is self-driven, capable of working with minimal supervision, and eager to contribute to cutting-edge energy storage and power conversion projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble line replaceable units (LRUs), power and control cabinets, and support hardware for:
• Large energy storage systems
• Industrial electronics
• General power conversion equipment
• Test large energy storage systems and industrial electronic systems.
• Perform field installations, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware and equipment software.
• Support the build and integration of advanced power systems for government and defense applications.

Minimum Requirements

• 3 years of hands-on hardware build and testing experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to U.S. Government ITAR restrictions.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:

• Large energy storage systems
• IPC J-STD standards
• PLC systems
• Fabrication and machining
• 3D printing
• Reading engineering drawings and schematics
• MIL-SPEC environments
• Medium-voltage power distribution
• Surge protection systems
• Complex wire harness assembly

Current & Upcoming Projects

• Building large battery-based energy storage systems utilizing power electronic converters.
• Supporting future medium-voltage systems (4,160V and 13.8kV).
• Working with 50kW–500kW converters/inverters interconnected for megawatt-scale power applications.
• Supporting projects across U.S. Navy (surface and submarine), Army vehicles and infrastructure, and aircraft platforms.
