Compensation: $23 - $28 per hour
Hours: Second Shift - 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Tuesday – Friday with overtime available on Monday and Saturday as needed
Position Summary
A precision manufacturing organization is seeking a CMM Inspector (PC-DMIS) to support quality assurance operations. This role is responsible for inspecting complex mechanical components throughout various stages of production, including first article, in-process, and final inspection.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect complex mechanical parts and fixtures to ensure compliance with engineering specifications
- Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections to verify product quality
- Evaluate and document nonconformances and quality issues
- Utilize and develop CMM inspection setups to validate dimensional requirements
- Perform manual inspections using surface plates and precision measuring tools as needed
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications, including GD&T
- Troubleshoot inspection issues related to methods, equipment, and corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within quality and inspection processes
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma or vocational/technical training
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in CMM inspection
- Experience using PC-DMIS software (Hexagon CMM preferred)
- Familiarity with CAD tools and GD&T principles
- Experience with handheld inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with quality or ERP systems (e.g., inspection tracking or manufacturing software)
- Experience in a precision manufacturing or aerospace environment
Work Environment & Schedule
This role operates in a manufacturing environment and includes extended periods of standing and working with inspection equipment.
- Shift: Second shift (4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Tuesday – Friday)
- Overtime may be available as needed
