Schedule: Mon–Fri | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Direct hire | Onsite
Why this role matters
Join a stable, privately owned precision machining company serving aerospace and defense. This is an onsite, shop-floor facing role where your process fixes and tooling decisions will directly improve throughput, quality, and profitability.
What you'll do (core responsibilities)
- Own day-to-day production flow: identify and remove bottlenecks to keep jobs moving.
- Work side-by-side with machinists and toolmakers to optimize setups, fixturing, and tooling choices.
- Develop and recommend process improvements to improve cycle times and reduce scrap.
- Review repeat jobs and provide input for estimating and job costing.
- Support quality documentation and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Lead, coach, and coordinate a small team on the shop floor.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and practical engineering support during runs.
What we're looking for (required / preferred)
- Hands-on background in machining, tooling, or production engineering (aerospace/defense preferred).
- Practical understanding of CNC processes and programming concepts (no formal coding required).
- Experience improving shop processes — lean, kaizen, or continuous-improvement exposure is a plus.
- Comfortable working onsite and directly on the manufacturing floor.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of leading or mentoring small teams.
- Aptitude for quick, actionable problem solving under schedule pressure.
Benefits & perks
- Competitive pay: $80K–$100K (strong candidates considered above range)
- Employer-paid portion of POS medical plan (company covers 70% of premium)
- Paid time off (starting package)
- Direct influence on operations at a long-standing, privately held manufacturer
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial shop culture with opportunities for visible impact
