Summary:
The CNC Machinist 3 will plan and perform a variety of CNC turning and milling operations to produce high-precision metal components. This individual is expected to work independently and demonstrate expertise in setup, programming knowledge, and part inspection.
Essential Functions:

- Operate CNC lathes and milling machines to machine parts to precise specifications
- Interpret blueprints, engineering instructions, and detailed technical specifications
- Set up, adjust, and operate basic and advanced CNC machine tools
- Secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials to machines accurately
- Select and verify appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machining operations
- Ensure parts are properly lubricated and cooled during operation
- Inspect finished parts using precision instruments such as micrometers
- Verify machine efficiency and troubleshoot operational issues as needed
- Clean and maintain machines, tools, and equipment
- Document in-process inspection results and maintain accurate production records
- Report irregular conditions to appropriate supervision
- Uphold safety and housekeeping standards
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be legally authorized to work with ITAR-regulated data
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Functional English literacy (reading, writing, speaking)
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints and engineering documents
- Advanced setup and operation of CNC turning and milling machines
- Skilled in using engineered gaging and shop measurement tools to tight tolerances
- Familiarity with machining speeds, feeds, and tooling for various materials
- Knowledge of machine control codes, including G and M codes
- Ability to travel domestically up to 5%
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Must be capable of climbing stairs frequently
