Position Summary
The CNC Machinist I will be responsible for planning and executing various CNC turning and milling operations to machine a wide range of metal parts under the supervision of the Operations Manager.
Compensation: $ $34.24 / hour
Essential Functions
- Machine parts to specification using CNC lathes, milling machines, and other tools
- Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, and technical specifications
- Set up, adjust, and operate basic and specialized machine tools for precision operations
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, accessories, and raw materials
- Monitor lubrication and cooling levels on parts during machining
- Measure, examine, and test completed units for accuracy and compliance using precision instruments
- Perform cleaning and lubrication of machines, tools, and equipment
- Maintain documentation and in-process inspection records
Minimum Requirements
- U.S. Person status as defined by federal regulations (for handling restricted data)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Precision Manufacturing
- Functional fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to interpret engineering documents, blueprints, and technical instructions
- Experience operating CNC turning and milling equipment
- Familiarity with G & M codes and general machine operations
- Ability to use precision tools and gauges to maintain tight tolerances
- Willingness to travel domestically (up to 10%)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Must be able to stand, sit, climb stairs, and move about manufacturing areas for extended periods
