An artisan wood flooring company is looking for a dedicated Wood Floor Technician to train from the ground up in a stable and rewarding career. What You'll Learn
You'll gain full exposure to every part of the trade—from demolition and prep work to installation, sanding, finishing, and customer interaction. Over time, you'll receive company-paid coursework and hands-on training leading to two nationally recognized certifications:
- Wood Floor Installation Certification
- Sanding & Finishing Certification
This apprenticeship-style program is designed to help you progress quickly through skill milestones, with opportunities for raises and advancement as you grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the journeyman and lead technicians with daily flooring projects
- Prepare job sites, including demolition and surface prep
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization
- Support general errands such as material pickup or delivery
- Assist with van and equipment maintenance
The Ideal Candidate
- Enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in craftsmanship
- Has reliable transportation to our shop or job sites
- Able to follow directions, work hard, and learn quickly
- Comfortable with physical work (lifting up to 80 lbs, stairs, and standing for long periods)
- Has a friendly, professional demeanor with clients and teammates
- Bonus experience: carpentry, painting, cabinetry, drywall, tile, or other interior trades
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Pay: Starting at $18–$22/hr DOE, with paid training and performance-based reviews
