We offer more than 80 finishing processes, from simple rack-and-run jobs to complex multi-process work, including anodizing, precious metals, cadmium and nickel plating, non-destructive testing, and painting.
Job Summary:
The Anodize Lead oversees daily operations in the anodize department, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role provides technical direction and support to anodize operators, coordinates workflow, and assists with training and process improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and assist anodize operators in daily production activities
- Plan and assign work to ensure on-time completion of the production schedule
- Monitor process tanks, solution levels, and parameters to ensure compliance with specifications
- Review and verify job travelers, ensuring accurate documentation and process completion
- Perform in-process inspections to verify part conformity and quality standards
- Support technical troubleshooting for anodize processes (Type I, II, III, 1C)
- Communicate quality/process issues to management promptly and assist in corrective actions
- Ensure all parts are processed according to customer requirements, work instructions, and job travelers
- Train and mentor team members on anodizing procedures and safety practices
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
- Collaborate with quality assurance, lab, and production control teams to optimize workflow
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity
- Support company goals for 100% on-time delivery and zero-defect quality
- Work overtime or weekends as needed to meet customer deadlines
Required Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of anodizing processes (Type I, II, III, 1C) and chemical handling
- Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a positive, productive environment
- Legible handwriting
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic sketch and blueprint reading skills
- Experience using inspection equipment (calipers, micrometer, mechanical gages, x-ray, thickness gages)
- Detail-oriented and a strong team player
- Positive, can-do attitude with excellent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training
- Basic understanding of Lean principles and efficiency methods
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer and math skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
- Must pass a drug test and criminal background check
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of anodizing or metal finishing experience, preferably in an aerospace environment
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
- On-the-job training provided for company-specific processes and quality standards
