Summary:
Our client is a premier-tier 1 supplier of automotive components who is looking to add experienced and professional Plant Manager to their team. The Plant Manager position manages all operations, infrastructure maintenance, staff and creates strategies and support systems to achieve the objectives of the plant.
The Plant Manager must have 8 years of supervision experience and have experience working with profit and loss
Plant Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management or related field
- 8 -10 years of progressive levels of supervision experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Must have experience in the foundry/manufacturing industry
- Training and Lean certification through an accredited organization – It’s a plus
Plant Manager Description:
- Directs plant organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organization goals
- Directs plant operational strategies by analyzing trends; preparing critical measurements; implementing production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, security, and health strategies; leading system improvements
- Directs plant financial strategies by anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances
- Plans plant operations by evaluating sales and delivery information; identifying short-term and long-range issues; identifying and evaluating options; choosing a course of action
- Delivers customer-acceptable products by enforcing quality standards; maintaining good manufacturing practices
- Improves quality production results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes
- Maintains organization stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements; helping others comply
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy plant environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns
- Prepares plant information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Contribute to plant/organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish task
- Directs plant HR strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; reviewing compensation strategies
- Seek to improve safety, 5S, and visual management continuously
- Support and participate in Kaizen and other Lean Manufacturing activities
- Optimize production schedules and meet quality and cost standards
- Maximize production efficiency and continuously seek to reduce the cost of operations by developing new, and refining current, processes and utilizing the work force more efficiently
- Maintain close supervision over production operations, coordinating with Maintenance, Plant Engineering, and Environmental through direct reports to maintain coordination and control of operation across departments and all shifts
- Maintain conformance with budget, and proper utilization of personnel, equipment, and facilities
- Ensure that all departments follow established guidelines for safety, production, quality, and environmental quality
- Oversee and direct the preparation of operating budgets for plant departments
- Administer budgets and monitor budget compliance during the business year, taking appropriate corrective action in the event of a budget variance
- Drive for no injuries through communication, training and leadership by example
- Develop, establish, and administer short and long term manufacturing and operating plans to meet established goals and objectives
