Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to lead the company's financial planning, accounting operations, and corporate finance initiatives. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will play a key role in driving financial performance, supporting M&A activity, and helping prepare the organization for a future IPO.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of FP&A, general accounting, and transaction experience, with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
• Develop financial models, KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting packages.
• Partner with department leaders to monitor performance and provide actionable insights.
• Analyze revenue, margins, operating expenses, and cash flow to support decision-making.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and consultants.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
Mergers & Acquisitions
• Support acquisition strategy through financial analysis, due diligence, valuation, and integration activities.
• Assist with post-acquisition financial reporting and operational integration.
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives and investment opportunities.
Pre-IPO Readiness
• Help build the financial infrastructure and reporting capabilities required for a public company environment.
• Assist with SEC reporting readiness, SOX compliance initiatives, and public company governance processes.
• Partner with external advisors and executive leadership on IPO planning and execution.
• Develop scalable processes and controls to support future growth.
Leadership & Business Partnership
• Lead and mentor members of the finance and accounting team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, technology, and executive leadership.
• Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior management and investors.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and accounting functions.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 8 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Strong background in FP&A, financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Exposure to M&A transactions, due diligence, and integration activities.
• Experience supporting a high-growth, private equity-backed, or pre-IPO company preferred.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience; ERP implementation experience is a plus.
• Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders.
