FOH - Shift Leader

Reports to General Manager/Chef. Oversees operations, managing cash, resolving conflicts, directs FOH staff ensuring shift runs smoothly and effectively. Ensuring that every guest leaves satisfied.  Monitors stock and inventory of café/restaurant supplies.  Makes sure shift is staffed accordingly in accordance to business level projections. 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide direction and feedback to staff during shifts 

  • Schedule employee shifts and assign duties 

  • Manage time-off requests and handle last-minute absences 

  • Train and coach employees 

  • Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs 

  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed 

  • Address guest and employee complaints and concerns 

  • Resolve conflicts between staff 

  • Foster and maintain a positive work environment 

  • When closing ensure facility is locked and secured. 

  • Ability to answer all questions regarding menu items and standard of procedures by employees/ guests 


Skills and Requirements 

  • At least 2 Years managerial/supervisory role in Hospitality industry, former server/barista preferred. 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills and Knowledge 

  • Excellent Communication Skills 

  • Ability to maintain positive work environment amongst staff. 

  • ServSafe Certificaiton 

  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced environment 

  • Critical problem solving 

  • Ability to stand for long periods 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
