Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Engineer / Inspector to join our team for ongoing infrastructure and construction projects at JFK Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with design documents and specifications, and supporting project quality, safety, and progress standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform field inspections of civil and infrastructure work including site preparation, paving, drainage, utilities, and structural concrete.
Verify work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and contract requirements.
Monitor contractor activities, site safety, and work zone traffic control.
Maintain detailed daily reports of site activities, labor, equipment, and materials.
Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and work schedules; report non-conforming work.
Communicate with contractors, design teams, and airport personnel to resolve field issues.
Assist in progress payment verification and punch list generation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
3 years of experience in construction inspection or field engineering, preferably in airport or heavy civil projects
Strong understanding of civil construction methods, safety practices, and materials testing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
Ability to work outdoors in active construction zones and variable weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and eligibility for airside clearance at JFK.
Salary: $60/hr
