This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hicksville, NY, for an Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans and specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and assisting in the feasibility and budgetary planning of projects. Responsibilities include sourcing and negotiating with vendors, coordinating with project managers and engineers, and maintaining updated cost databases. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring accuracy and accountability in cost planning while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in cost estimation, preparation of bid proposals, and analytical skills related to project plans and specifications
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with project teams
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for vendor coordination and reporting
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods in civil engineering and transportation-related projects
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience in estimation for similar projects is highly desirable
