GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

Education And/Or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED - Minimum baseline for entry into the field.
  • Associate Degree in Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration or Environmental Control Technologies - Preferred by many employers for advanced roles.
  • Technical Certifications:
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (Section 608) - Required for handling refrigerants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. The Lead HVAC Technician oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, or institutional facilities. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical construction tasks, including the installation of electrical components and equipment, such as wiring, switches, and conduits, and terminating cables; install wiring and lighting systems.
  • Perform electrical installation in new buildings, or in existing buildings or industry facilities.
  • Perform basic electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic functions.
  • Install components of electrical systems, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and other protective devices.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical equipment, such as pumps, motors, generators, compressors, and transformers.
  • Install and repair electrical wiring.
  • Install and maintain lighting fixtures, lighting controls, and electrical systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering expertise regarding electrical installation, equipment, and systems.
  • Install and maintain electrical systems in industrial facilities.
  • Maintain electrical equipment and wiring, such as circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and lamps.

Requirement
