Job Summary:
The full-time Coordinator for the Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS) Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) will direct the daily operations of the Adult CSU and provide direct nursing, clinical, and therapeutic support to consumers as needed at the sixteen (16) bed adult 24-hour crisis stabilization facilities. The position is responsible for coordinating all activities of the CSU and the day-to-day supervision of all staff, including ensuring all health, safety, and service outcomes are met. Reports to the Medical Director.
Essential Functions: Supervise the coordination of treatment functions; Implement consultation and education services to the community; Provide consistent supervision of all staff according to HBHS policy, including random checks on all shifts; Schedule staff to ensure adequate personnel coverage in accordance with HBHS policy and DMH Operating Standards; Ensure proper maintenance of facility records and consumer charts at the CSUs; Ensure that consumers initial intake/assessment interviews are performed, clinical services are provided and discharge planning is performed in a timely manner as appropriate; and all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed professional in a behavioral health field: BSN with nursing license, DMH credentialed therapist with a Master’s degree, or a valid Mississippi clinical license (LCSW, LPC/LPC-S, or LMFT).
- At least 2 years of management/supervisory experience in a public or private mental health setting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software.
- Commitment to the community mental health model and ability to work collaboratively.
- Valid Mississippi driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance.
