Duties and Supporting Responsibilities
- Assist team members both by telephone and in person with information, forms, and answering questions. Requires the use of telephone equipment, ID camera, copy machine, and computer.
- Initiate property onboarding for new hires.
- Creates and distributes memos, flyers, name badges and newsletters, as assigned. Maintains the electronic bulletin board and weekly newsletter.
- Responsible for complying with the Record Retention policy related to all Human Resources/Payroll documents.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Liaise with the ROC, Hilton's centralized recruitment center and manage the recruitment process
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Update various reports on a monthly basis, including but not limited to workplace accident summaries, birthdays and service anniversaries.
- Assists with Team Member Recognition Programs, bulletin board maintenance and Colleague activities (e.g. L&D activities); holiday parties, birthday of the month, recognition programs and handing out monthly birthday cards
- Maintain property departmental organizational charts
- Maintain recruitment activity logs (new hire, separation, transfers, promotions, employment requisitions) accurately and timely
- Prepare correspondence and memos when necessary (Employment verification/references, regret letters, employment correspondence)
- Assist in production and distribution of weekly property newsletter.
Requirements
Mandatory
- At least one year of human resource management experience
- Ability to sustain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism
- Takes initiative, proactive and is organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and well within team dynamics
- Excellent communication skills both written/verbal in the English language
- Must possess ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
- Strong computer proficiency to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Requires high levels of interaction with all Colleagues
- Able to present themselves with an uplifting personality
- Must be willing to work a very flexible schedule when needed
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Desirable
- Bi-lingual
- Previous luxury hotel experience preferred
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Bachelor's degree within one of the following fields: Human Resources, Communications, Education, Hospitality Administration or a related field
