Housekeeping Manager - New Jersey

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced hospitality professional to lead and manage a dynamic Housekeeping team in a fast-paced hotel environment. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are consistently met. You will play a pivotal role in recruiting, training, and developing team members while fostering a culture of open communication, accountability, and excellence. This position requires a hands-on leader who can effectively balance operational demands with team development, all while upholding the values and service standards of the Hilton brand.

Responsibilities:
- Distribute and delegate room and cleaning assignments to Housekeeping team members on a daily basis
- Interview, select, and train Housekeeping team members in proper work procedures and techniques
- Supervise and monitor team member performance by conducting thorough room inspections
- Provide coaching, counseling, and performance reviews to team members as needed
- Plan and conduct regular staff meetings to ensure open communication among team members
- Attend operational meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information to the team
- Assist room attendants and housepersons in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of daily tasks
- Plan and implement hotel-wide changes, including those affecting amenity setups and communication materials
- Monitor proper use of and compliance with hazardous chemicals and the Hazcom program
- Expedite all guest requests in a timely and professional manner
- Assimilate into the Hilton Family PRIDE/CARE culture by understanding, supporting, and participating in all elements of the program
- Adhere to all safety requirements, including the proper use and care of any assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Skills:
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in a supervisory capacity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively and pleasantly with both guests and staff
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team in a hospitality environment

Experience:
- 2 years of supervisory and/or management experience (hotel industry preferred)

- Ability to read and write basic English to complete necessary reports and understand instructions and information

- Knowledge of housekeeping operations, safety standards, and hazardous chemical compliance
- Previous experience in a Housekeeping department is highly desirable
