Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile compounded medications, including IV infusions, using aseptic technique in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations for medication dosages, dilutions, and admixtures
- Ensure all compounding procedures adhere to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, including drug regulation and state healthcare laws
- Operate pharmacy software systems for data entry, medication tracking, and inventory management
- Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive information and medication records
- Assist with medication intake, dispensing, and patient service in both hospital and community pharmacy settings
- Support hospital pharmacy staff by maintaining sterile environments and performing quality checks on compounded medications
Qualifications
- Prior experience sterile compounding, critical care, or clinical pharmacy settings is highly desirable
- Demonstrated hospital or healthcare environment experience with sterile IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, and pharmacological medical terminology
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent healthcare certification preferred
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and data entry procedures
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, drug regulation, and state/federal pharmacy laws
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and medication safety
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
