Responsibilities:
· Setting up and stocking station with necessary supplies
· Preparing food for service. (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meats, or preparing soups and sauces.
· Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
· Ensure that the food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and timely fashion
· Be aware of scheduled work times and promptness with start times.
· Prepare and cook meals in accordance with quality requirements and procedures
· Maintain cleanliness of station and overall kitchen
· Prepare meals for associates when required
· Wrap, date and rotate food product in accordance to local Health Inspections
· Ensure compliance with sanitation requirements
· Maintain a professional attitude with guests and fellow associates
· Proper uniform at all times during work schedule
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
· Culinary school diploma
· 1 year of proven cooking experience in a ala carte food environment
· Certificate of Achievement for food handling
· Excellent Knowledge of food service facilities and equipment
· Demonstrate aptitude in cooking
· Knowledge of food handling, proper heating and cooling procedures
· Knowledge of sanitation standards.
· Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
· Familiar with industry best practices
