What will I be doing?
- Lead and implement pivotal initiatives for the Engineering department, ensuring operational plans align with resort objectives and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Conduct thorough property inspections on a regular basis to evaluate building integrity, identify potential issues, and maintain a safe environment for guests and team members.
- Oversee the performance and reliability of critical systems, including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC, to guarantee smooth and efficient operations across the resort.
- Assign and monitor maintenance tasks for guest rooms, public spaces, meeting areas, and grounds, ensuring timely completion and high-quality standards.
- Manage renovation and repair projects from start to finish, coordinating resources and timelines to achieve successful outcomes.
- Maintain and update emergency preparedness plans, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and readiness for any situation.
- Control inventory and purchasing processes to keep essential supplies stocked while handling costs effectively.
- Safeguard departmental assets, including equipment, tools, and storage areas, through proper security measures and accountability practices.
- Foster a positive and productive team culture by leading recruitment, performance evaluations, and employee development in partnership with Human Resources.
- Direct financial planning and oversee spending to ensure alignment with the annual budget and operational priorities.
- Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by senior leadership to support overall resort success.
To fulfill this role effectively, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent experience
- 5 years of engineering experience in hotels or related industry
- 4 years in a leadership role in the same or similar environment
- Flexible Schedule to include weekends and holidays
- EPA – OSHA 10-30 – CPO certifications (Preferred but not required)
- Clean and valid driver's license
- Ability to write and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions to engineering staff
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree
- CPR/First Aid
