Great Food Needs Great People! The Hilton Garden Inn Fishkill is looking for a Driven Line Cook to Join the Best Food & Beverage Team in the Hudson Valley.
Location: Hilton Garden Inn Fishkill. 25 Westage Dr., Fishkill, NY 12524
Position: Part Time Line Cook
Starting Rate: $19-20 per hour
Schedule:
- Breakfast Shifts are scheduled 5:00AM-11:00AM Weekdays and 6:00AM-12:00PM Weekends.
- Dinner Shifts are scheduled 2:30 PM-10:30 PM or 4:30PM-10:30PM
- Other Shifts may be available depending on sales & catering events booked.
Job Overview: A Cook is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs.
- Date all food containers and rotate as per Department of Health standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out of stock items or possible shortages.
- Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
- Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
- Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
