Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to hotel recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. This position plays a key role in delivering a consistent, high-quality dining experience for hotel guests while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. ***Must be available on weekends and able to pass a drug screen***
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
- Set up and stock assigned station with all necessary supplies
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Maintain proper food handling, storage, and rotation procedures (FIFO)
- Monitor food quality and report any concerns to the Kitchen Manager or Chef
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area at all times
- Follow all health department, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries
- Support banquet and catering food preparation as needed
- Participate in daily prep work and closing duties
Qualifications
- Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred (1 year recommended)
- Knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Food handler certification (as required by state/local regulations)
