Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas including patient rooms, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and offices using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
• Ensure all surfaces are sanitized according to health and safety standards, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations
• Maintain proper floor care by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and applying appropriate treatments for different flooring types
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning products to ensure continuous availability
• Follow established sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination and promote environmental health
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to supervisors for immediate resolution
• Adhere strictly to environmental services protocols and janitorial best practices to uphold cleanliness standards in healthcare or institutional settings

Skills

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial cleaning environments or healthcare facilities such as hospitals or clinics
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to cleaning and sanitation procedures
• Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively including floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards
• Familiarity with environmental services best practices for infection control and sanitation protocols
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and moving heavy equipment
