Housekeeping Houseperson (Hotel)

Overview

Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta NE/Gwinnett Sugarloaf is seeking an energetic, dependable, and service-oriented Hotel Houseperson to join our Housekeeping team. This position plays an essential role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our guests by maintaining all public areas of the hotel while providing prompt assistance with guest requests.

The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and understands that every interaction with a guest contributes to the overall hotel experience. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist multiple departments when needed.

Responsibilities Public Area Cleaning

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all public areas, including:
• Lobby
• Front entrance
• Public restrooms
• Hallways
• Elevators
• Fitness Center
• Business Center
• Meeting Rooms
• Restaurant and Bar areas
• Guest laundry room
• Administrative offices
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize public spaces throughout the shift.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Clean glass doors, windows, mirrors, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior entrances, sidewalks, and designated outdoor guest areas.
• Monitor and replenish restroom supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.

Guest Service

• Respond promptly to guest requests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Deliver guest amenities such as:
• Towels
• Linens
• Pillows
• Blankets
• Toiletries
• Rollaway beds
• Cribs
• Assist guests with luggage when requested.
• Report guest concerns or maintenance issues to the appropriate department immediately.

Housekeeping Support

• Assist Room Attendants by stocking housekeeping carts and linen closets.
• Transport clean and soiled linens throughout the hotel.
• Remove trash and dirty linen from guest room floors.
• Deliver housekeeping supplies to various departments.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and special assignments.
• Help prepare meeting rooms and public spaces for special events.

Hotel Operations

• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and lost-and-found items immediately.
• Maintain storage rooms and housekeeping closets in an organized manner.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
• Follow all Hilton brand standards and hotel cleanliness expectations.
• Comply with all OSHA safety guidelines and proper chemical handling procedures.
• Support other departments as operational needs arise.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs throughout the shift.
• Operate housekeeping equipment safely.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when necessary.
