What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Service Representative position at Hilton Garden Inn Dayton Downtown?
Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities
We are seeking a polished, personable, and service-driven Front Desk Agent to join our team.
At our hotel, the Front Desk is more than a place to check in. It is the center of the guest experience.
From the moment a guest arrives, our Front Desk Agents create the first impression of our hotel through genuine hospitality, thoughtful attention, professionalism, and an ability to anticipate and respond to guest needs.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in creating an elevated experience while making every guest feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.
What You’ll Do
- Create a warm, polished, and personalized arrival and departure experience
- Complete check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, payments, and guest accounts accurately and efficiently
- Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, proactive service
- Assist guests with hotel amenities, dining, transportation, local recommendations, and special requests
- Respond to guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, discretion, and a solution-focused approach
- Take ownership of guest requests and follow through to ensure resolution
- Recognize opportunities to personalize the guest experience
- Communicate seamlessly with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Sales, and hotel leadership
- Maintain detailed knowledge of hotel services, amenities, events, and the surrounding area
- Handle guest information, payments, and sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality
- Maintain the professional appearance and presentation of the Front Desk and lobby areas
- Follow all hotel service standards, operational procedures, and safety and security practices
Who We’re Looking For
You understand that exceptional hospitality is found in the details.
You are someone who:
- Genuinely enjoys taking care of people
- Presents yourself with confidence, warmth, and professionalism
- Notices details and looks for ways to make a guest’s experience better
- Communicates clearly and graciously
- Remains composed and professional during busy or challenging situations
- Takes ownership rather than simply passing a problem along
- Works well with other departments and understands that great hospitality is a team effort
- Is dependable, punctual, and accountable
- Can balance warmth and personality with the standards expected in an upscale hotel environment
- Is comfortable using technology and learning hotel systems
Previous hotel, upscale hospitality, restaurant, or high-level customer service experience is preferred. However, we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates professionalism, emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and a genuine hospitality mindset.
Schedule
We are currently hiring for full-time and part-time positions.
Because hospitality is a 24/7 business, candidates should have flexibility to work a combination of weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays based on hotel needs.
What Hospitality Means to Us
Upscale hospitality is not simply about providing a beautiful hotel.
It is about how a guest feels while they are with us.
It is remembering the details. Anticipating a need before it becomes a request. Following through. Taking ownership. Creating moments of connection. And making every guest feel that their experience matters.
If that is the kind of hospitality you believe in, we would love to meet you.
