Director of Interventional Imaging

Our team is seeking a Director of Interventional Imaging to oversee the daily operations, clinical nursing practice, and patient care within the Interventional Imaging and Cath Lab units. This position provides leadership and supervision to nursing and technologist staff while ensuring high-quality, safe, efficient, and patient-centered care in accordance with hospital policies and applicable regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and coordinate daily operations, staffing assignments, schedules, patient flow, and resource utilization for Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab services.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and technologist staff, including staff development, competency assessment, performance management, recruitment, and annual performance evaluations.
• Ensure clinical practices and departmental operations comply with hospital policies and applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements, including Joint Commission, OSHA, ACR, and IAC standards.
• Perform and oversee pre-procedure patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and provide patient and family education related to procedures, treatments, and disease processes.
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance regarding patient care, ethical issues, policies, procedures, quality improvement, and operational concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, nurses, hospital leadership, and other departments to promote effective communication, positive team relationships, quality patient care, and an exceptional patient experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required (bachelor's degree preferred); Preferred Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN), and Procedural Sedation certification are highly desirable; Licensure: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Hawai‘i

OR

• Bachelor's degree from an approved program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Equivalent professional work experience that provides knowledge, skills, and abilities comparable to four (4) years of college study leading to a baccalaureate degree from an approved JRCERT-recognized program may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis; Radiologic Technologist certifications required: ARRT(R), preferred: ACLS, ARRT(CV) and/or (CI) or RCIS
• Experience: Three (3) years of Angio/Cath Lab experience as a registered nurse or radiologic technologist
• Supervisory Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience that included 1) planning and directing the work of others, 2) assigning and reviewing work, 3) advising on difficult problem areas; 4) scheduling, and 5) training and developing employees.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one (1) month of appointment.
• Additional Requirements: Must be able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment, manage multiple priorities, and wear protective lead aprons for extended periods.

Salary: $160,000 - $185,000 per year

* Rates listed for paid holidays, vacation and sick days are for 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE.

Pre-Employment Health Requirements

Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
