Valley Housing Foundation is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to assist in maintaining Valley Housing Foundation various facilities located in the Northeast San Fernando Valley.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance on building interiors and exteriors; perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting; minor electrical and mechanical functions under Maintenance Supervisor’s instructions and supervision. Conduct routine inspections of facilities, as assigned, in order to maintain facilities in accordance with Hillview’s standards; provide and make arrangements for access by outside contract maintenance vendors as directed by Maintenance Supervisor; order janitorial supplies; perform basic assessments of maintenance problems: respond to maintenance emergencies as needed including after business hours response if needed.
Required Skills - Maintenance Technician
Basic operating knowledge of hand and power tools and their safety requirements.
-Ability to perform a basic assessment of maintenance problems and make recommendations for their resolution. Good written and oral communication skills.
-Ability to work where disabled individuals with mental disorders are being served.
-Able to work both independently and under supervision.
-Ability to understand and abide by agency policies and procedures.
-Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, demonstrate sound judgment, give attention to detail, be flexible, self-driven and motivated.
Preferred Skills - Maintenance Technician
Bilingual Spanish-English , basic computer skills, experience working in a healthcare environment, experience working in a setting serving disabled individuals.
