An overview of this position entails…The Development Manager is a strategic and detail-oriented leader responsible for the successful execution of all fundraising initiatives. This position is responsible for developing fundraising campaigns, managing donor stewardship initiatives, enhancing online giving and overseeing the donor database. The Development Manager supervises members of the Development Department and does not regularly manage a personal portfolio of donors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement and execute the organization's Development strategy, ensuring alignment with overall
fundraising goals.
Design, manage, and evaluate fundraising campaigns and events, including digital giving
initiatives.
Serve as project manager for all fundraising efforts, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and
performance goals are achieved.
Plan and carry out donor engagement activities, including impact communications, campaign
updates, and appreciation events.
Supervise Development Department staff, including hiring, onboarding, work direction,
performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
Translate campaign concepts and donor engagement plans into detailed project workflows, task
assignments, and cross-departmental collaborations.
Support sponsorship strategy by aligning sponsorship opportunities with campaign and event
objectives.
Lead the development and execution of creative, mission-aligned fundraising campaigns and
events.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to create promotional content and materials for events and
campaigns.
Work closely with program staff to collect stories, metrics, and testimonials that highlight
organizational impact.
Ensure consistent, brand-aligned messaging across all fundraising activities and communication
channels.
Produce development reports and analyze donor data to guide strategy and measure progress.
- Oversee the accuracy and maintenance of donor records in donor management systems (e.g.,
DonorPerfect, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Bloomerang}, with support from the Development Specialist.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, communications, marketing, or a related field or
equivalent related experience required with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory/leadership
experience.
- 5 years of experience in planning and executing non-profit fundraising or project management
- Experience and proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

- Valid Colorado Driver's License
