About the Practice
Hilltop Behavioral Health is a specialized outpatient mental health practice dedicated to compassionate, evidence-based treatment of eating disorders. We provide comprehensive care for individuals with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID, and other disordered eating patterns, working collaboratively to support lasting recovery.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, skilled Registered Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary team in providing specialized nutrition therapy for adolescents and adults recovering from eating disorders. This role requires expertise in eating disorder treatment modalities and a strong commitment to Health At Every Size (HAES) principles and weight-neutral care.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide individual nutrition counseling for clients with eating disorders using evidence-based approaches including intuitive eating, exposure therapy, and cognitive-behavioral techniques
- Develop individualized meal plans that support medical stabilization, normalized eating patterns, and recovery goals
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and ongoing monitoring of nutritional status
- Collaborate closely with therapists, psychiatrists, physicians, and other treatment team members to ensure coordinated, holistic care
- Facilitate meal support sessions and exposures as clinically indicated
- Provide education to clients and families about nutrition, eating disorders, and recovery
- Challenge diet culture, weight stigma, and food rules while supporting clients' autonomy and body trust
- Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation and progress notes
- Two to Three evenings per week is a must
Required Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD/LDN) credential required
- NJ State licensure (CDN or equivalent) required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in eating disorder treatment
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to HAES, weight-inclusive care, and anti-diet approaches
- Strong understanding of eating disorder psychopathology and medical complications
- Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain cultural humility
Preferred Qualifications
- CEDS (Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian) or CEDS-S credential
- Training in Family-Based Treatment (FBT/Maudsley approach)
- Experience with ARFID and neurodivergent populations
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles
