Work Schedule and Shift Premiums
- Night shift
- As a casual / per diem employee, hours vary based on the needs of the department
- 2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour; 3rd shift premium is $3.05/hour; weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy
- Has attained certification (CRT) or registry (RRT) in Respiratory Therapy and is licensed to provide respiratory care in the state of Michigan, or a Respiratory Technician working towards certification
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic testing which may include EKG’s, Holter Monitors, Event monitors, ABG’s, PFT’s, GXT’s and EEG’s
- Treats patients using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy
- Administers medication to patients via NMT/MDI/DPI
- Performs pulmonary clearance procedures on patients utilizing PEP, Vest and CPT
- Charts response and progress of therapies administered in EMR. Appropriate documentation of education and Care Plan
- Educates patients on how to use equipment and medication
- Performs set up and monitoring of ventilator and BIPAP patients, including suctioning and airway maintenance
