What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spec, State Ed Visual Impaired position at Hillsborough County Public Schools?
The Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) is an Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)-funded state project maintained by the Florida Department of Education Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services.
This position requires Florida teacher certification in visual impairments and at least three years teaching experience. Knowledge of and experience teaching a variety of assistive technology (AT) for students with visual impairments is preferred. Candidate will be expected to provide in-person and virtual professional learning on a variety of topics, including compliance, eligibility, and the Expanded Core Curriculum. Candidate will also be responsible for maintaining the AT in FIMC-VI’s Loan Library. This is a 12-month, 8-hour day position which includes travel. FIMC-VI is currently located at Monroe Middle School, 4716 W Montgomery Ave, Tampa, FL 33616. Candidates local to the Tampa area are preferred.
