Summary:
The Resource Teacher, Site, Behavior Specialist assists in coordination behavior
management at school sites. The Resource Teacher, Site, Behavior Specialist assists school
administrators and staff in developing individual, class, and Schoolwide behavior interventions, including
data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities:
 Coaches teachers and assists with implementation and modeling of behavior strategies within
the classroom.
 Delivers classroom management training, attends required and non-required trainings related to
job skills, and/or provides follow-up to district-level training.
 Assists with data collection and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and
Positive Behavior Intervention Plan (PBIP) processes.
 Develops a schoolwide discipline plan in conjunction with school administrators.
 Assists with individual behavior contracts, and conducts social skills groups.
 Possess a high-level understanding of behavior management strategies and methodologies.
Creates effective management systems, and determines appropriate positive behavior supports.
 Communicates effectively with parents, peers, and administration, including both verbal and
nonverbal de-escalation skills.
 Supports the Problem-Solving Leadership Team (PSLT) in implementation of Problem Solving
Response to Intervention (PSRtI) and schoolwide Positive Behavior Systems (PBS).
 Performs any other duties as assigned.

Education: A bachelor's degree. Degree or formal training in content area preferred.

Experience: At least five (5) years of successful experience in teaching or related field. Proof of
extensive behavior management experience (i.e. college course work, Continuing Education
Units, in-service records) and successful teaching based on evaluation requests and student
performance is required.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Professional Educator Certificate required.
Preference given to Certified Associate Behavior Analysts.

Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets all kinds of documents. Responds to inquiries or
complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or community. Writes speeches and effectively
presents to managers, the public, and school board.

Mathematical Skills: Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and
fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages,
ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished
in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing.

Lifting Demands: Up to 10 pounds.

Reaching Activities: Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.

Environmental Conditions: Noise Intensity 3 moderate. The employee may be occasionally
exposed to outside weather conditions.
