Summary: 2026-2027 School year.
The Kindergarten Assistant will provide academic, socio-emotional, and/or behavioral support at the direction of the kindergarten teacher. The job will include instructional and supervisory responsibilities while working with students one-on-one, with a small group of students, or with a whole group of students. The Kindergarten Assistant will report to and is evaluated by the principal and kindergarten teacher(s).
Responsibilities:
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares materials for instruction.
• Provides planning time for teachers, including but not limited to outdoor activities, rhythm activities, and story time.
• Provides lunchroom assistance.
• Supervises school-based routines, such as dismissal, restroom, etc.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
Education: Passed the ParaPro Test with a score of 457 or higher.
Experience: Experience working with young children preferred.
Language Skills: Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Adds and subtracts two-digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s. Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Applies common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions. Deals with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, talking, hearing.
Lifting Demands: Up to 55 pounds.
Reaching Activities: Overhead.
Environmental Conditions: Noise Intensity: 3, moderate.
