Summary:
The Assistant, Kindergarten Bachelor’s Degree Level, will provide academic, socio-emotional, and/or behavioral support at the direction of the kindergarten teacher. The Assistant, Kindergarten Bachelor’s Degree Level, will perform instructional and supervisory responsibilities while working with students one-on-one, with a small group of students, or with a whole group of students. The Kindergarten Assistant, BD Level, will report to and is evaluated by the principal and kindergarten teachers.

Responsibilities:
· Prepares materials for instruction.

· Provides planning time for teachers to include outdoor activities, rhythm activities, story time, etc.

· Provides lunchroom assistance.

· Supervises school-based routines such as dismissal, restroom, etc.

· Performs any other duties as assigned.

Experience: Experience working with young children preferred.

Language Skills: Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills: Adds and subtracts two digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s. Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Applies common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions. Deals with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills preferred.

Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, talking, and hearing.

Lifting Demands: Up to 55 pounds.
