Job Summary:
Performs a variety of analytical, confidential, administrative, professional level work for human resources services and programs in the benefits area and coordinating special projects, conducting data analysis, and supporting process improvement initiatives related to HR operations.
The position supports the administration and auditing of state benefits, including compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Responsibilities include analyzing benefits data, preparing complex reports, and monitoring compliance requirements. The analyst also conducts research, participates in HR-related surveys and studies, and evaluates the effectiveness of HR programs while making recommendations for improvements.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information while supporting benefits reporting, reconciliation of accounts, and administrative processes such as invoices, purchase orders, and employee benefits deductions. The position also assists with benefits reporting for programs such as the Florida Retirement System and other state-provided benefits.
The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with data, reporting tools, and college-wide systems to support the institution’s human resources and benefits operations.
Job Duties:
- Reconcile all employee benefit deductions, including auditing the State’s benefits reporting in People First against the organization’s system.
- Research and correct discrepancies related to benefit premiums and prepare reports for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll. Processes and requests refunds accordingly.
- Communicate discrepancies and corrections to employees when necessary.
- Calculate and process Florida Retirement System (FRS) deduction adjustments.
- Participate in the testing and auditing of open enrollment files to ensure deductions are accurate for all benefit plans, including Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
- Work closely with the Information Systems, A/R, A/P and Payroll departments to resolve discrepancies in benefit integrations.
- Assist with salary surveys and other HR-related reporting tasks when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least three (3) years of related work experience, preferably in human resources, payroll, or benefits administration.
