We are seeking a motivated individual with strong customer service skills to join our Optical Team. Experience as an Optician or having worked in retail is a plus, but we are willing to train the right applicant.
JOB SUMMARY: Deliver exceptional patient care experience by providing them with the highest quality of products and services in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Below Essential job functions are intended to describe the general nature and level of work expected to be performed by the Optician:
Essential Functions:
- Assist customers by answering questions about product pricing, services, and general information
- Input spectacle orders, assist with frame selection, and educate patients about lens options.
- Ability to quickly learn and be knowledgeable about our products and keep up with latest lens technology.
- Inspect and verify that glasses are made to specification.
- Receive glasses in system and notify patients that they are ready.
- Dispense and adjust glasses.
- Repair glasses and order parts needed for repair.
- Mounting lenses into frames and hand edging lenses.
- Enter frames into inventory.
- Return defective and discontinued frames to manufacturer for credit.
- Ship product for patients who request items to be mailed.
- Bill insurance for frames and lenses.
- Provide coverage at Satellite offices as needed.
- Ability to send tasks and communications accurately to other staff via EHR.
- Backup for optical reception as needed (Verify insurance benefits, answer phones, process contact lens orders etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands of the Job:
- Requires prolonged standing, frequent sitting, bending, stooping and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Requires normal range of vision and hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, lab blocker, lab edger, lens meter, fine motor function for mounting lenses into metal or plastic frames
- Ability to operate fax machine, photocopier, calculator and other office equipment, as needed.
- Extended amount of time with noise requires ability to work under stressful conditions; may require working irregular hours occasionally.
Salary : $51,635 - $69,576
