Description
The Hillsboro Club, an exclusive oceanfront private residence club in South Florida, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to support the Engineering Department at our gorgeous property. This position will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appearance and functionality of all buildings, equipment, and facilities of our luxury property. We are looking for someone with hospitality experience, high energy and a passion to contribute to the continued success of our luxury property.
The Club operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.
**The ideal candidate for this role must have painting & basic maintenance skills, and be available to work mornings, evenings and weekends**
This is a full-time, hourly position with competitive compensation, ranging from $20 to $21 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition to competitive pay, our employees have access to health insurance and other benefits. We also offer opportunities for advancement within the company.
General Requirements
- Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, elevators, ventilation systems and building structures of the club.
- Maintains the air conditioning, refrigerators, ice makers and pool pumps.
- Supervises the filtration and chlorination of swimming pool, tests swimming pool water; and maintains daily log of water test results for local health department inspections.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) required by club’s PM procedures.
- Installs tile, drywall; makes grouting repairs, patches, paints walls, and paves brick.
- Repairs small motors.
- Attends departmental staff meetings.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Director of Maintenance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a painter and general maintenance tasks in a hospitality/restaurant setting.
- Excellent painting and drywall repair skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, power tools, minor repairs on outlets, lamps and plumbing fixtures.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks that require bending and reaching.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
