Description
The Hillsboro Club, an exclusive oceanfront private residence club in South Florida, is seeking an experienced Host / Hostess to support the F&B Department at our gorgeous property. This position will be responsible for managing the Dining Room reservations on a day-to-day basis, greeting and seating Guests in the dining room and printing daily and weekly menus. We are looking for someone with hospitality experience, and the passion to contribute to the continued success of our luxury property.
The Club operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The ideal candidate for this role must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This is a seasonal part-time, hourly position with competitive compensation of $16 to $18 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition to competitive pay, our employees also have access to health insurance, and opportunities for advancement within the company.
General Requirements
- Greet and seat Members and their Guests.
- Manage the flow of covers for each server station.
- Assist F&B Leaders in daily creation of menus and floor diagrams.
- Be the first line of defense for the Club’s dress code and technology policy. Get Captains involved whenever necessary.
- Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of the host stand and its surroundings.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must possess basic computational ability
- Must possess computer skills
- Knowledge of reservations system
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office functions
- Ability to describe all menu items, prices and methods of preparation. And to use suggestive selling techniques to encourage the Members to choose items that are specialties
- Performs other appropriate duties assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Previous fine dining and/or banquet experience.
- Minimum two years of experience as a head waiter or wait staff supervisor in a fine dining venue.
