Direct Support Professional III - RBSCL
Residential Based Support Community Living - supporting those under the age of 17 years old in a community based home setting! Applicants are expected to be mission driven, human centered, and able to train and obtain certifications.
Location: Dubuque, IA
Schedule: Full-Time | 3-Day or 4-Day Work Week Options
BASE Wage Range: $20.53–$21.78/hour Premium Pay
Average Blended Pay: $23.95–$25.41/hour (based on premium weekend pay). This position pays 1.5x pay on weekends.
Flexible Schedule Options
3-Day Work Week = ~203 Days Off/Year
4-Day Work Week = ~152 Days Off/Year
OPEN DAY SCHEDULES:
Wed Fri (6AM-7PM) Sat (8AM-7PM)
Wed Thur Sat (8AM-8PM)
Thur (6AM-7PM) Fri Sat (8AM-8PM)
OPEN OVERNIGHT SCHEDULES:
Thur Fri Sat (8PM-8AM - awake)
About the Role
Join our brand-new RBSCL Children's Program at HillsDales!
As a Direct Support Professional, you'll provide compassionate support to children with behavioral support needs in a structured group home setting. You'll help each child build independence, learn daily living skills, and experience success through positive behavior supports and meaningful activities. What You'll Do
Teach life and social skills: self-care, communication, play, and community engagement
Implement behavior plans: help children learn positive coping skills and reduce unwanted behaviors
Provide care and supervision: ensure safety, structure, and emotional support in daily routines
Assist with healthhygiene: including medication administration (after certification)
Plan meaningful activities: promote fun, growth, and connection
Maintain documentation: track progress, interventions, and behavioral outcomes
Support a positive environment: keep the home clean, safe, and welcoming
What You Need
High School Diploma or GED (required)
2 years of experience working with children or in behavioral health (preferred)
Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation (required)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to lift 35 lbs, provide physical support, and manage occasional behavioral outbursts
Clean background check and drug screening
