Hillcrest Nursing Facility is a skilled nursing facility located in San Bernardino Ca. Hillcrest is a 59 bed facility with no trachs, ventilators or G-Tubes. We are looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who can work in a fast-paced environment, have a positive attitude, and work together as part of a team. The pay is $40.00 hr to $45.00 hr base on experince.
OT Assistant Job Summary:
Occupational Therapy Assistant will assist in providing appropriate aspects of quality patient care, under the supervision of licensed therapists. OTA will document all services provided to ensure accurate and timely billing of therapy services. The OTA assures that patient care follows the OT Plan of Care, the organization's guidelines, meets professional standards, community needs and is in compliance with Federal and State guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides Therapy services established by the Occupational Therapist (OTR) in the patient Plan of Care.
- Provides therapy services under the supervision of an OTR as determined by the Registered Therapist and in compliance with State and Federal guidelines.
- Consults with OTR regarding changes in treatment or condition in a timely manner.
- Appropriately and effectively completes documentation including daily notes and assisting the OTR to create progress notes, discharge summaries, or monthly reports as needed.
- Submits billing, payroll, and expense documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicates with patients, families, referring physicians and other members of the team.
- Attends continuing education seminars/workshops to keep abreast of new clinical skills, programs or techniques.
- Participates in care planning meetings, rehab meetings and family training in order to communicate patient progress as requested by OTR, Director of Rehab or Rehab Resource Consultant.
- Follows organizational and facility policies and procedures to ensure employee and patient safety.
- Ensures equipment is in good working order prior to providing care to patients. Follows procedures for reporting damaged equipment.
- Maintains a clean environment.
- Attends required meetings, in-services and functions as designated by the Director of Rehab and /or the Rehab Resource Consultant.
- Coordinates treatment goals with other team members.
- Maintains valid licensure, certification or equivalent as requested by appropriate state agency.
Requirements
Education Required:
- Graduates in Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Certification: Certification as required by State guideline
- Certification as required by State
- CPR Certification
Experience:
- 1 year Occupational Therapy Assistant experience preferred.
- 1-2 years experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
