- Bailey Medical Center offers a full range of medical services, including general surgery, maternity, gynecology, bariatrics, orthopedics and emergency care. The 73-bed hospital is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the region.
- The Lead Sterile Processing Tech provides patient care by cleaning, processing and sterilizing the instruments.
- Demonstrates and understands the principles of decontamination and sterilization in preparing items for OR and clinic use.
- Ensures implementation of standards within the quality assurance monitoring process and monitors record keeping of repairs and maintenance.
- Maintains and reviews missing instrument logs, puts in requests for missing instruments and orders instrument parts needed to maintain functioning instrument trays.
- Performs rounding through operating rooms, confirms instrumentation needs are met, troubleshoots problems and repairs, reviews schedules with the Nurse Manager, facilitates room turnover, and coordinates loan instruments.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Surgical Sterile Technique and sterile processing chemicals.
- Minimum 1-3 years of Sterile Processing Tech experience.
- Vocational Training in related field.
- CRCST, CSPDT, or CST certification
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
