This is a strong career path for someone who wants meaningful work now and the opportunity to grow into a Medication Aide role with additional responsibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with meals and dining, including helping residents get to and from meals and ensuring residents are accounted for.
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and respectful support throughout daily routines.
  • Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, needs, or concerns and communicate promptly with the nurse and care team.
  • Support residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care with patience, compassion, and dignity.
  • Engage residents in daily activities, scheduled programming, and meaningful moments throughout the day.
  • Assist with resident laundry, linens, clothing, and personal care supplies.

  • Communicate resident updates and concerns with nurses, PCAs, Medication Aides, and oncoming/offgoing shifts.
  • Follow infection-control practices, safety standards, and Hillcrest policies and procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, nurses, and team members.

What You Can Grow Into

After 90 days of employment, eligible Personal Care Assistants may complete free 40-hour Medication Aide training through Hillcrest.
