Special Education Teacher (Moderate or Severe Disabilities)

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher for for one of our residential programs.

The Highpoint program is located in Lenox, Massachusetts. It is a rural setting on 24 beautiful acres, surrounded by land preserved by the Massachusetts Audubon Society.

Highpoint is a trauma informed care residential treatment setting for males aged 11-21 with a variety of high-risk behaviors and mental health diagnoses. Many of the students have trauma histories involving past abuse, neglect, loss and bullying. While at Highpoint, the students are engaged in trauma resolution through intensive therapeutic services as well as by utilizing milieu interventions.

This Program provides an on-site year round educational program as well as a structured residential and milieu environment.

This position is ideal for recent graduates, soon-to-be graduates, or waiver-eligible candidates looking to grow with strong mentorship and financial support.

Salary Range: $56,475 To $73,396 Per Year

Position Summary:

Develops, implements, reviews and improves the educational program for students; ensuring that the education or service plans are in compliance with agency polices and the Department of Education regulations. Foster a safe and creative environment conducive to learning in which the students are able to achieve success based on interests and abilities both academically and socially.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree Required. A Masters Degree highly desired.

Experience:
Experience working in a special education setting working with children highly desired.

Licenses or Certification:
License in grade-level appropriate Special Education, Moderate Disabilities, Severe Disabilities or Subject Area is preferred. If not licensed, must be eligible for an initial waiver, enroll in license track coursework, and make sufficient progress (Academic & MTEL) towards licensure to maintain waiver status.
