Responsibilities
As an Lead Teacher in the Infant Classroom at Hillcrest, you will create an engaging learning environment for our youngest learners, creating magic in the every day. You will have the support of a dedicated Assistant Teacher 30 hours/week and several full-time Support Teachers whenever needed. You will be responsible for up to four infants alone or up to eight infants with another teacher--helping them feel safe and loved, helping them navigate their emotions and behaviors, and helping nurture their innate curiosity that drives play-based learning.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of incredible early childhood educators, including the other Lead Teachers of our 9 classrooms. The average tenure of our Lead Teachers is currently 5.7 years, with some teachers loyal to Hillcrest for more than a decade (which we think speaks volumes about our program).
Qualifications
Lead Teachers should have a background of rich and meaningful early childhood experience from professional-level coursework and/or real-life experience. At a minimum, you must have a high school GED and 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare facility to be considered for this role.
