The Freestanding Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical and administrative oversight of outpatient behavioral health services within the Freestanding Clinic at Hillcrest Children & Family Center. The Supervisor ensures the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive services while maintaining compliance with all agency, payer, regulatory, and licensing requirements. This position provides direct supervision to clinical staff, supports crisis response and clinic operations, monitors productivity and documentation standards, and contributes to program development and quality improvement initiatives.

The Clinical Supervisor serves as a leader within the clinic, balancing direct clinical service delivery with staff development, performance management, and operational oversight.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Deliver weekly individual and bi-weekly group clinical supervision to assigned staff in accordance with licensing board requirements and agency standards.
  • Support clinicians with case conceptualization, treatment planning, evidence-based interventions, risk assessment, and discharge planning.
  • Assist with the onboarding, training, and orientation of new staff; provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support professional growth.
  • Monitor staff productivity and workload; support employee engagement and retention efforts through regular communication and active performance management.
  • Monitor team caseloads, census, admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure equitable distribution, efficient service delivery, and timely access to care.
  • Review referrals and manage case assignments based on staff capacity, expertise, and client needs.
  • Support daily clinic operations, ensure business hour coverage, and participate in a rotating Saturday coverage schedule.
  • Facilitate team and case consultation meetings; collaborate with leadership regarding staffing needs, operational challenges, service gaps, and solution implementation.
  • Conduct routine chart audits and review clinical documentation to ensure quality, medical necessity, and adherence to agency timelines.
  • Ensure staff compliance with licensing, accreditation, Medicaid, payer, and contractual requirements.
  • Participate in quality assurance, outcome monitoring, and performance improvement activities; assist with external audits and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Serve as the primary clinical resource for high-risk assessments involving suicidality, homicidality, abuse, neglect, and other safety concerns.
  • Provide immediate consultation for urgent situations; assist with walk-in assessments, safety planning, hospitalization referrals, and necessary follow-up documentation.
  • Maintain a minimum of 10 billable service hours per week through direct individual, family, and/or group therapy.
  • Demonstrate strict adherence to evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment approaches and complete all personal clinical documentation within established timelines.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Independent clinical licensure required (LICSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Approved Clinical Supervisor status or eligibility preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in community-based behavioral health settings.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid documentation and behavioral health regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices.

Position: Hybrid - 4 days in office, 1 day remote
