About the Role:
The Driver - By Products position is a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of by-product materials across various locations within the United States. This role ensures timely delivery and pickup of materials while adhering to all federal, state, and company safety regulations. The driver will be the face of the company during interactions with clients and partners, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service. Additionally, the role involves routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to guarantee operational reliability and compliance. Ultimately, this position supports the company’s supply chain by ensuring by-products are handled and transported responsibly, contributing to overall operational success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A with no Automatic Restrictions)) appropriate for the vehicle class being operated.
- Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening.
- Proven experience in operating commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety inspection procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience transporting by-products with a dump trailer.
- Familiarity with GPS and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Strong customer service skills and professional communication abilities.
- Heavy equipment experience
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Operate company vehicles to transport by-products to designated locations safely and on schedule.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload by-products carefully, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or contamination.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and electronic records related to shipments and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
