Job Summary
Hill York seeks a Pipefitter who lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, welds, and maintains piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Layout, fit, assemble, and install various pipe systems
- Inspect work for correct installation and best practices for specifications
- Follow detailed work and plans of installation for job
- Cuts pipe using saw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine
- Threads pipe using threading machine
- Bends pipe using pipe bending tools
- Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including steel, copper, HDPE, and PVC
- Connects pipes using threaded, welding, grooved, soldered, brazes, fused, and hand tools
- Secures pipes to structure with brackets, anchors, pipe stands, clamps, and hangers
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project requirements
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions such as vertical, horizontal, or overhead

Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, documents, and submittals
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend and twist
- Ability to push, pull, lift, carry up to 60lbs
- Ability to climb ladders
