What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breakdown Manager position at Hill Transportation Services?
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Breakdown Manager to oversee real-time response and resolution of fleet breakdowns across our network. This role is critical to maintaining uptime, coordinating repairs, and ensuring clear communication between drivers, shops, vendors, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to breakdowns and roadside issues promptly and professionally
- Coordinate repairs with internal shops and external vendors
- Track open units and ensure timely updates on repair status
- Maintain accurate logs of breakdowns, resolutions, and asset status
- Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and operations to minimize downtime
- Complete repair order for outside repairs in Fleet Rock
Qualifications:
- Fleet operations, maintenance coordination, or breakdown response background
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Samsara, McLeod, and Fleet Rock
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Technical knowledge of diesel and trailer systems preferred
- Willingness to be on-call or work early hours as needed
