Overhead Door and Dock Service Technician Helper

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess background in construction, demonstrating proficiency in both mechanical and manual skills; with a strong mechanical aptitude. This role requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under the direction of the senior service technician.

Duties

• Maintain clean, neat, and orderly warehouse.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on overhead doors and dock levelers.
• Document and provide detailed information on service performed, and parts used or needed to complete repair.
• Manage work orders and time sheets (paper and digital) for each job and turn-in within 24 hours of completion.
• Follow company and OSHA safety rules and guidelines. Avoid injuries and damage to property, loss of unused materials and clean-up of work area debris and complete all necessary company training in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager.
• Prior to commencement of work, determine if appropriate tools and equipment are working and / or available.
• Ability to work in all outside weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Repetitive standing, lifting, reaching, bending, climbing & kneeling
• Comfortable with working on ladders and/or scissor lifts at varying heights
• Comfortable using tools and working in commercial settings (warehouses, shops, etc.).

• Adherence to PPE use and job site safety
• Follows all company policies and procedures
• ​Provides quality customer service
• Project a positive image when interacting customers, employees and management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner.
• Travel throughout coverage area during workday.
• Ability to calculate basic math and read a tape measure
• Knowledge of basic hand tools
• Strong Willingness to learn

Experience
Candidates should have prior experience in construction or related fields. Familiarity with the following skills is essential:

• Maintain work area cleanliness and ensure shop remains a safe working environment.
• Maintain a culture of safety & participate in all safety meetings.
• Maintain warehouses, industrial and/or commercial doors; loading docks; levelers; and other related warehouse equipment.
• Dedication to providing exceptional customer service.
• Professional communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Bilingual is a huge plush

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $18.00 per hour
