What are the responsibilities and job description for the Thrift Store Associate position at Hill Country Community Ministries Food Pantry?
Overview: We’re looking for a passionate, people-oriented individual to join our team here at Hill Country Community Ministries Thrift Store! As a part-time store associate you would split your time between a variety of tasks including working the register and greeting customers, assisting our back end as needed (including but not limited to clothes processing, assisting with donations intake, etc.), and assisting with furniture intake, deliveries, and collections.

Responsibilities:
Ø Working on the cash register and handling cash / credit card sales transactions quickly and accurately.
Ø Greeting and assisting customers with enquiries, both in person and over the phone, in a friendly and professional manner.
Ø Helping to maintain a clean and organized sales floor to avoid any potential health and safety hazards, etc.
Ø Be available to assist with store opening / closing as required.
Ø Assisting with the processing of a wide range of donated goods as assigned by the management team.
Ø Assisting with quality control monitoring of stock to maintain overall inventory standards before and after stock is moved to the sale floor.
Ø Assisting with stock movement from the back end to the sales floor as required and instructing volunteers on best practices therein.
Ø Assisting with donation in-take as required.
Ø Assisting with furniture pick-ups and deliveries, and collections from our local partners as required.
Ø Assisting with maintaining general hygiene and health and safety standards as needed throughout the day.
Ø Other duties as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications:
Ø Previous thrift store or general retail experience is desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided.
Ø High School diploma or equivalent.
Ø Basic mathematics & IT skills.
Ø Bilingual speakers (specifically Spanish) desirable. Conversation English skills a must.
Ø Must be able to lift upwards of 30 lbs. regularly & be comfortable being on your feet for six to eight hours as necessary.
Ø Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate into a dynamic pre-existing team.
Ø Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ø Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a friendly and professional manner when faced with strong personalities.
Ø Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ø Be a creative problem solver and able to work to deadlines as laid out by the management team.
Ø Be available to work a flexible schedule with some Saturday shifts as required.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
