Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Hayward, WI, for an Accounting Manager. As an Accounting Manager, you will manage the preparation of financial statements, you’ll oversee construction-focused functions such as job costing, WIP reporting and billing, AP/AR, and financial reporting—an ideal role for someone with strong construction accounting experience who is ready to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger
- Maintain accurate job costing and project financial reporting
- Prepare monthly financial statements and WIP schedules
- Process AIA billings, progress draws, retainage, and change orders
- Monitor project budgets and profitability
- Support project managers with cost tracking and reporting
- Ensure subcontractor compliance documentation is current
- Coordinate year-end audits and tax preparation
- Improve accounting systems and internal processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Construction or general contractor accounting experience required
- Strong knowledge of:
- Job costing
- WIP schedules
- AIA billing
- Retainage
- Construction contracts
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Procore, or NetSuite
- Strong Excel and organizational skills
Preferred
- QuickBooks experience
- CMA certification
- Experience with commercial or residential new construction
- Supervisory experience
